Eurotunnel Blog

Eurotunnel manages and operates the Channel Tunnel between Britain and France including Le Shuttle, the rail shuttle transport system. Used by more than 325 million passengers since it opened in 1994, the Channel Tunnel also provides paid access to rail freight and passenger trains. Eurotunnel is listed on both the London Stock Exchange and Euronext Paris.

The Challenge

Visited by thousands of consumers every day, it is crucial that Eurotunnel’s website is user-friendly, informative and up to date at all times. To achieve this, Eurotunnel wanted to introduce a blog section that would provide their consumers with relevant and compelling content.

The Solution

Green River Media’s Ektron Developers created a fluid mobile responsive design for the Eurotunnel blog’s seven pages.  If used effectively, a blog can be a key tool in driving traffic to the main website, promoting products and services, generating sales, improving customer service and building a company’s brand and credibility.

The Results

The new blog’s fresh, engaging content has significantly increased the site’s traffic and enhanced search engine optimisation (SEO). With mobile internet surfing on the rapid rise, its mobile responsive design has resulted in an even better user experience reaching more consumers on the move.

Building our blog as a responsive project was always going to be a challenge, but it was important for us to provide the same content for both our desktop and rapidly expanding mobile and tablet user base. Working with Green River Media we were able to overcome common responsive design and build challenges to deliver a blog that is performing well for organic search traffic, as well as supporting our marketing and social communications.
